ocated in suburban
Hamden,
Connecticut, — 8 miles north of New Haven and
midway between Boston and New York City -
Quinnipiac is the academic home to 7,400
undergraduate, graduate and law students on an
attractive 500 acre campus. For the 12th
consecutive year U.S. News and World
Report ranked Quinnipiac among the top
regional schools in the north providing a full
range of undergraduate and master’s level
programs. The university has also earned high
marks in Princeton Review’s Best 361
Colleges, as well as from school and
independent counselors.
Students live in traditional, suite and apartment style housing during
their undergraduate years. 95% of our freshmen
live on campus, 80% of whom come from outside of
Connecticut. All residence halls are grouped in
tree-lined villages and housing is guaranteed to
all full time undergraduates.
The university offers more than 50 undergraduate degree programs and 17
graduate programs through the
College of
Liberal Arts and the Schools of Communication, Health Sciences, Business, the
Division of Education and
School of
Law.
Our professors come to know each student as a person — not a number — and
are available for questions and advisement.
Discussion and mutual respect are at the heart
of all of our courses: classes are small
(average size of 22) with a 16/1 student/faculty
ratio.
The university encourages internships and field experiences as a vital
part of the educational experience. Our students
have gained invaluable experiences at such
varied sites as The Today Show,
Dow Jones, ESPN and The Connecticut State
Legislature. The
School of
Health Sciences alone maintains
affiliations with nearly 1,000 hospitals and
health care centers. For an international
learning experience, students can study abroad
at sites in Ireland, France, England, Spain,
Australia, Italy, Canada and Costa Rica.
In athletics, Quinnipiac is a member of NCAA Division I, and our 21 teams
compete against nationally ranked schools. The
university is a member of the Northeast
Conference in most sports, and the ECAC in men’s
and women’s ice hockey. The recently completed
twin 3500 seat arenas for ice hockey and
basketball in the TD Banknorth Sports Center,
offers student-athletes facilities that are
among the best nationally and attracts an
enthusiastic crowd.
The vitality of campus life is also expressed by more |

than 70 clubs and organizations, campus publications, community outreach,
student government, 2 fraternities and
sororities, dance, music and theater groups.
Ethnic and multicultural organizations include
the Black Student Union, the Latino Cultural
Society and the Asian/Pacific Islander
Association. Regular socials, concerts and
cultural events spark the weekends; and the list
of distinguished guest speakers includes Kweisi
Mfume, Cornel West, Harry Belafonte and the late
Yolanda King.
The learning experience at Quinnipiac also has a high technology
dimension. The entire campus is connected by a
wireless computer network—prompting PC magazine
to rate Quinnipiac among the top ten nationally
in 2007’s Top 20 Wired Colleges.
The Arnold Bernhard Library has printed
materials, nearly 100-Internet accessible
workstations, additional laptop nodes and
electronic access to databases from libraries
across the world. Communications students have
ready access to the
News Technology
Center, audio studio and high definition digital television production studio.
The latest stock market trends are instantly
available at the Terry W. Goodwin ’67
Financial
Technology Center—which was the
first in Connecticut.
We encourage you to visit the campus – we have interviews, group
information sessions and campus tours available
Monday – Friday throughout the year, and we host
3 Saturday Fall Open House programs, and 1
Spring Open House.
