Fordham education blends
a challenging
curriculum with Jesuit tradition and the
resources, culture, and energy of New
York City — a unique combination by any
measure. Fordham students serve as
interns at the United Nations and are
mentored by CEOs of Fortune 500
companies. They win honors that include
the Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award
and the mtvU Student Filmmaker Award,
and capture prestigious Marshall and
Fulbright fellowships. As the Jesuit
University of New York, Fordham is a
place where talent and intellect are
truly nurtured and dreams are achieved.
Strong orientation programs, special freshmen
seminars and active faculty advising
ensure a smooth transition to college
life. With a world-class faculty who are
committed to both teaching and research,
every student is challenged to excel,
and every student receives the
individual attention needed to do so.
Students choose from more than 55 majors in the
liberal arts, sciences and business.
Students also complete a rich core
curriculum that spans literature,
history, science, religion, philosophy
and the arts. Special offerings include
honors programs, involvement in original
research, study abroad, dual-degree
programs with Fordham’s graduate
schools, and pre-professional programs
in law, medicine and other health
professions. The G.L.O.B.E. Program
combines liberal arts and business
courses with immersion in another
culture and international business
courses and internships. Taking
advantage of its location in a world
center for the arts, Fordham offers a
BFA in Dance through a unique
partnership with The Ailey School.
Degree programs in theatre provide the
finest pre-professional training with a
faculty of leading
New York City
professionals.
At Fordham, students find people and resources to
support them throughout their college
careers and beyond. The Campion
Institute, for example, prepares
students for Rhodes, Marshall, Fulbright
and other fellowships. In 2006-2007, 56
Fordham students captured prestigious
fellowships.
As one of the “25 Hottest Schools in
America,” named by Newsweek,
Fordham draws students from across the
country who want to live and learn
immersed in the diversity and
opportunity of a world capital. With an
extensive internship program, students
can choose from more than 2,600
opportunities in business,
communications, education, government,
health care, biomedical research, law,
the arts, and other fields.

New York City not only provides unparalleled
internship and career advantages, but also a
never-ending list of things to see and do — from
Broadway theatre, museums and music to major
league sports or a bike ride through Central
Park.
Fordham features two residential campuses: Rose
Hill, on 85-acres adjacent to the
New York Botanical Garden and the Bronx Zoo; and
Lincoln Center, a cosmopolitan campus in the
cultural heart of
Manhattan.
Enjoying the student and academic life of both
is easy with the University’s “Ram Van” service
between campuses.
More than 130 student organizations offer a
remarkable range of activities. Student life
programming also capitalizes on the resources of
New York City
to expose students to Broadway theatre,
concerts, museums and a mosaic of cultural
experiences. An extensive athletics program
includes 23 varsity sports and a range of club
and intramural sports.
Reflecting the
values-centered education that is a Fordham
hallmark, more than 1,300 students engage in
community service each year, locally and in
distant corners of the globe.
With its two distinctive residential campuses, Jesuit traditions of
academic excellence and personal care for each
student, and the great city of
New York as its partner, Fordham offers students
virtually unlimited opportunities for learning
and personal growth. Find out why Fordham
