high school
senior who came to see us recently said,
“I have never felt so at home on a college
campus until I visited here”.
Albertus Magnus College,
a four-year, private, liberal arts
college located in the heart of vibrant southern
Connecticut, has chosen it’s small size
on purpose. Our aim is to make all our students
feel that they have found their academic home.
Our student-staff ratio of 13-1 means that the
faculty and staff are committed to knowing who
you are, understanding how you learn and helping
you discover what your contributions in the
world will be. We believe that a foundation in
the liberal arts is excellent
preparation for life and offers the
groundwork for a multitude of professions.
Founded in 1925 by the Dominican Sisters of St. Mary of the Springs,
Albertus
Magnus
College educates men and women to become leaders
in all areas of their lives. Faculty
members at Albertus come from leading
universities of the United States and abroad and
are one of the College’s greatest assets.
Ninety per-cent of the 75 full and part-time
faculty members hold a Ph.D. or the equivalent.
Their primary concern is teaching,
although the work of many faculty members has
been published. Students find faculty members
accessible for academic or personal
counseling and for campus sports and activities.

The 500
students who attend the traditional
undergraduate program at Albertus come from
various parts of the
United States, Europe, Africa, Asia, and South
and Central America.
Though we are small we are proud to lay claim to
being one of the most diverse small schools in
the state of
Connecticut. We feel that by living and studying in a community
with a wide range of people you are putting
yourself in the best position to live in the
multi-cultural world as it is. About 50
percent of the students live on campus in
housing that has been converted from large
former estate homes. The housing program fosters
a strong sense of community spirit, and
students often plan parties and other social
events in their residence halls. The
Campus
Center
is a hub of student activities such as
comedians, live music, contests, and other
unique celebrations.
Albertus Magnus College and the
New England
community are fresh, up to date and exciting. We
are small by design, personal in nature
and ready to talk to you about choosing your
academic home. The possibilities for your
future are all up to you! We encourage campus
tours, overnight visits and class observation.
